What happens to my data after cancellation?

Once you have canceled your account, any data that was entered into the account will be kept for up to 90 days. After 90 days, the data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. If you reactivate your account after this time, you will start from a new trial account without access to the previous data.

Important Note

Before you cancel, please make sure that all data, customer documentation, and any details you would like to save are properly backed up. We cannot do this for you. After 90 days have passed, any information left in the account will be purged. Accounts that remain inactive for over 90 days, which is defined as having no account activity or payment, are automatically deactivated, and all associated data is purged permanently. Additionally, we recommend that you export any important client and account data to a secure location before deactivating your account to prevent data loss. If you need to put a hold on your account for a certaing period of time, consider utilizing the Pause plan offered by Credit Repair Cloud. This is a cost-effective way to retain your account data and settings while taking a break from platform usage. Feel free to start a chat with us or give us a call for more information.

Can I cancel an account that is not under my name but uses my payment card?

Account cancellation policies prioritize the security and privacy of account holders.

Below, we outline the general rules and specific scenarios related to canceling accounts that are not under your name but are paid for using your payment card.

General Policy on Account Cancellations

For security and privacy reasons, only the account owner can authorize the cancellation of their account. This policy ensures that sensitive account information and actions remain under the control of the rightful owner.

  • Direct Confirmation Required: The account holder must provide direct confirmation, either verbally or in writing, to authorize the cancellation.

  • No Third-Party Cancellations: Even if you are the payment cardholder, you cannot cancel an account on behalf of someone else without their explicit authorization.

Scenarios Involving Third-Party Payment Cards

If the account is under another person’s name but is paid for using your card, the following options are available:

  1. Account Owner Initiates Cancellation: The account owner can contact support directly to request cancellation. This is the most straightforward and secure method.

  2. Verification of Card Ownership: In some cases, you may be able to authorize cancellation by verifying your card ownership. This involves providing an image of the payment card showing only the first 6 and last 4 digits, along with the name on the card. All other details should be covered for security. Once verified, the account can be canceled without the account owner’s direct involvement.

Exceptions and Special Cases

While the general rule is that only the account owner can authorize cancellation, exceptions may apply in specific scenarios, such as verified card ownership. However, these exceptions are rare and require additional verification steps to ensure compliance with security and privacy standards.

Summary

In summary, account cancellations require the explicit authorization of the account owner. If you are the payment cardholder but not the account owner, you may need to involve the account owner or provide verification of card ownership to proceed. These measures are in place to protect the privacy and security of all users.
